TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH.
Oh wow, what a way to end this! I can hardly believe it’s already the final stretch of my Fearless Institute Leadership Bootcamp Course. This journey has been so transformative, and as I sit here reflecting on everything I’ve learned, one thing stands out so clearly: the call for me, as a leader, to go out and make Jesus known. That’s not something I take lightly at all. It’s both a privilege and a great responsibility.
Throughout
this year, I’ve had the opportunity to participate in various mission
experiences, each one teaching me something new about God’s heart for people.
I’ve come to see that the Great Commission is not just a suggestion; it’s our
core assignment as believers. Sometimes, the idea of going out, speaking about
your faith, or stepping into new territory where you might not know anyone can
look scary or even overwhelming. But one thing has become so evident: you can
never do the work of evangelism without the help of the Holy Spirit.
When you
let Him lead, fear loses its power. You stop worrying about what to say or how
people will respond, because suddenly it’s not about you anymore, it’s about
Jesus being made known. I’ve experienced that quiet courage that comes when you
rely on God instead of yourself. It’s like He whispers, “I’m with you,” and
everything changes.
My most
recent mission trip to Uganda was truly eye-opening. We attended the Mountain
of the Lord’s Camp at Worship Harvest, and I still can’t shake off one
story I heard there. There was this pastor who started really small, just seven
people meeting in a house. He wasn’t entirely sure about his calling at first
and, like most of us, had his share of excuses. But when he finally said yes to
God, that simple act of obedience set something incredible in motion.
He walked
faithfully with those seven people, encouraging them, discipling them, and
creating rhythms of fellowship and growth. Over time, that small group
multiplied, becoming a vibrant Missional Community. And now, he leads a
thriving church of over four hundred people! Can you imagine that? From seven
to four hundred, all because one man obeyed God’s voice and trusted His
leading. That story moved me deeply. It reminded me that God never asks for
perfection, only obedience. When we take a step of faith, He multiplies our
efforts beyond what we could ever accomplish on our own.
It made me
ask myself, how many times have I hesitated when God nudged me to speak to
someone or take a step of faith? How many times have I let fear or comfort win?
The truth is, many of us have the best intentions. We pray, we read our Bibles,
we attend services, we serve faithfully, we give, and we even do good in our
communities. But if we’re not actively sharing Jesus, if we’re not helping
others come to know Him, then we’re missing out on the very heartbeat of our
faith.
It may
sound harsh, but it’s true. The Great Commission wasn’t given to a select few;
it was given to all of us. Jesus didn’t say, “Stay where you are and be nice
Christians.” He said, “Go and make disciples of all nations.” That’s our job
description. It’s what we were created for, to reflect His light in a dark
world.
As I wrap
up this season and look forward to what’s next, I feel super challenged and
equally excited. This year is ending on a high note for me because I now have a
clearer understanding of my purpose. My prayer is that God would lead me, and
all of us, to do exactly what He’s called us to do. That we’d be the quickest
feet He can send, carrying His name to our Jerusalems, our Judeas, our
Samarias, and yes, even to the ends of the earth.
May we
never grow comfortable just sitting in church, taking notes, and calling it a
day. There’s a world out there that’s desperate for hope, and we carry that
hope within us. Let’s go out boldly, fully relying on the Holy Spirit, and make
Jesus known wherever we go.
Blessings!
